Physical focus Autumn (second half term)

This half term we will continue to build on the good foundations built in our standing asanas. We will look at opening the hips and shoulders together with starting some back bends to stretch out the spine.  This should lead us to increased flexibility in the shoulders, back and abdomen. We will work to try and strengthen and elongate the spine.

We will continue pranayama with a focus on ujjayi  (victory) breath. Once we are used to ujjayi we will be able to use this when we are doing postures.  Using the breath in asana will support our concentration and lead us towards a feeling of calm.
